American Persimmon Seedling Trees Available for Fall 2024 Planting!

These seedling American persimmon trees are descended from a grove of cold-hardy parent trees located in zone 5b in central Ohio. The resulting seed are then grown to healthy 1yr old seedlings at our ranch in the PA Wilds.

These bareroot seedlings offer cold resistance and produce golf ball sized, sweet golden fruit that ripen in the early fall. Needless to say, deer and other wildlife love for these delicious fruit as much as humans! These native fruit trees attain a beautiful mature size of 25-35 feet tall "up North", but will grow even larger in rich soils and warmer climates. Persimmon trees can be male, female, or both so it is recommended to plant 2-3 in a group or row to ensure pollination. Like chestnuts, you should plant these trees early on in your project and expect about 8 years of growth before fruit production begins here in the North.

Recommended for wildlife oriented plantings, native food forests, home orchards, or general habitat improvement, these trees grow in very cold areas like Central PA or NY and thrive in Appalachia and the southeast USA. Plant your persimmon trees today and enjoy these unique and delicious fruit for a lifetime!

We are a small business in the PA Wilds region of Northern PA, who has been growing trees for 28 years. We strive to grow healthy, vigorous trees with robust root development. We use organic & sustainable methods on our ranch, and believe in leaving the Earth better than we found it.

Our bareroot seedling trees are well packaged in a moist shipping medium and ship to every state East of the Rocky Mountains. Shipping begins in early November when trees are fully dormant. Hardy in USDA Zones 4 and warmer.

Customer Review from 2021:

★★★★★

“Couldn’t be happier with the customer service and the friendly conversations with the owner Steve with this company!!

My order came in exactly when he said it would and it was packaged perfectly and he made sure he didn’t send me anything that was questionable if it would make it or not after planting!

Getting some knowledge and direction for planting tricks from Steve was a big help as well! Where else do you get texts and pictures from someone that’s asking about how your trees are all doing?… you don’t!!

You will not be disappointed with the quality of the trees and his customer service has been above and beyond my expectations! Can’t wait to get more of Steve’s trees in the ground.”
